Finally got to try this place. Waited in line on a Friday early evening for about 20min plus another 10min after placing our order. They ran out of matcha (gyukuro, angry matcha, matcha cortado) which was disappointing as I was looking for a replacement for Orobae's Gyukuro milk tea. Nonetheless, settled for the Uji green milk tea . My friend got the mango tornado. We both liked our drinks. The Uji felt fragrant and is still much above average other green milk teas out there. Mango tornado was decent , but nothing memorable. Service is ok, there's no greeting, none of the "extra" effort that was present at Orobae (the staff there would always make sure your drink tasted how you liked and never made you feel rushed). Bottom line: Omomo is a great tasting milk tea/boba shop however it is not a 1:1 replacement for Orobae (RIP) . It is far not worth it to wait longer than 15min unless you are trying to kill time.

I heard great reviews about this place, so I had to stop by when I was in LA. I drove 2+ hours to get here, and the drinks did not disappoint! I was told to get the omomo matcha & the strawberry tornado as it was apparently very good. The omomo matcha (50% sugar level) was in fact very good. Good quality matcha & not too sweet. The strawberry tornado (50% sugar level) had a lighter strawberry taste and it was kinda bland. It didn't have a strong strawberry flavor. Since the omomo matcha was very good, I decided to order another drink: mango tornado. The mango tornado (100% sugar level) compared to the strawberry tornado was way better. Idk if it's because of the sugar level difference or the fruits being used, but the mango was sweet and refreshing. It was super crowded and since I know omomo is a popular boba spot here in LA, the 2hr drive was worth it. I wish they have a location in the Bay Area, would love to try out their other drinks!

The best boba in CA hands down full stop. The quality of the drinks and boba itself is simply unmatched. My go-tos are the Omomo matcha for a more dessert feel of a drink and the watermelon green tea for a refreshing alternative. Both drinks half sweet are perfect. Yes, the lines can get crazy and you may wait over an hour but for consistent, top quality boba there is no substitute.

A SoCal trip is not complete without trying the well known tea shop OMOMO! The line was still crazy long at 12:30pm and I waited about 45 minutes. The service here is alright but it's understandable since the workers are put in a rushed and busy environment. The inside is very small and had limited seating with no tables. I ordered the omomo matcha 100% sweetness. The recommended sweetness was 100% and I decided to go with that since I know some matcha powder can be very strong and the sugar helps balances it out. However, I did not like the full sweetness as it was too sweet and toward the end of the drink it felt like I was drinking straight sugar. If I were to order this again, I would get at least 50-80% sweetness. My partner ordered the mango tornado. The drink was still super icy and could use a few more seconds to be blended. We also got the Thai milk tea with boba, and their boba tastes amazing, it is so soft and chewy.
